OVERVIEW & FIRST IMPRESSIONS The animator, MV editor and one of the vocalists for the underground music circle Nightcord at 25:00 (Niigo for short), under the pseudonym "Amia". Mizuki's obsessed with all things cute and loves to mess with people to get a reaction out of them. Surprisingly mature, despite her usual childish behavior. Kind of an otaku, way into idol groups, late night anime, mecha and Sentai shows. Rarely goes to school due to rumors and harassment, only showing up often enough to avoid having to repeat the grade. Mizuki was assigned male at birth, though she began presenting as a girl full-time some time before starting high school. Mizuki is generally not public about this aspect of herself in most situations—she passed as a cisgender girl with the others in Niigo for over a year while she worked up the resolve to tell them, being terrified that it would change things. (To be as clear as possible, Mizuki's stealth and hard to clock. I'd prefer to avoid other characters instantly picking up on it or bringing it up. Mizuki usually moves pretty impulsively when she isn't caught in her own head, and is all smiles and pretty huggy—but is very uncomfortable with new people being touchy with her. PERSONALITY largely from the project sekai wiki: Mizuki is a moody person and Kanade thinks she only acts by her own principles. She tends to get frustrated and upset whenever she's ridiculed for various reasons, and she strongly desires to freely express herself, without holding back or being made fun of due to just being who she is. She's also obsessed with cute things. Despite her energetic, carefree, and sometimes childish demeanor, Mizuki is shown to be, on more than a few occasions, the most mature member of Niigo, as Ena herself admits in one of her card stories. She often assumes the role of mediator in arguments, breaking things up and settling things down whenever she senses that the air has become too heated. She's fairly introspective, and is therefore usually the one to suggest breaks when she notices that her fellow members have grown tired or particularly stressed out. Where Kanade tends to intensely hone in her focus, Mizuki keeps her attention at least somewhat rooted in reality, able to sense changes in tension and atmosphere in the group. She's able to come to fairly nuanced conclusions about issues, as well as people, as is evident in the way she spoke of her feelings towards Mafuyu disappearing; describing how she would feel but acknowledging that it is not Mafuyu’s responsibility to respond to, or feel saved by, her feelings. For better or for worse, she has a very strong learned sense of boundaries: when to involve herself in the affairs of others, and when to involve others in her own affairs. She makes sure to acknowledge that she herself is bound to have little understanding of others’ struggles before proceeding to offer an opinion. She carries with her a strong recognition of the struggles her fellow members face, and with this comes a belief that the group isn’t an appropriate space to share her own struggles. It seems that she stays secretive, to an extent, from an understanding that everyone has their lies. ABILITIES Mizuki is a very normal teenage nerd in basically every important respect. She can sing well, as the vocal impression link above shows. Additionally, she's proficient at sewing, modelmaking, using computer-aided design tools and video editing software, but her hand-drawn art skills are a little underdeveloped. She mostly uses them for roughs and storyboards, along with fashion design, not really drawing for its own sake.
